Job Description

\n \nWe’ve been recognized with a number of awards for innovation in pet care across our product portfolio, including the Pupsicle (beloved by more than 3M+ pups and their people), Bite n’ Brush, and HonestChew.
\n \nWoof debuted at No. 1 in Consumer Products and No. 3 overall on the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America in 2025. For more information, visit mywoof.com and follow on social media: @mywoof.
\n \nThe Opportunity:
\nWoof is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager to build and lead regulatory compliance across our growing portfolio of pet products, including consumables, supplements, toys, accessories, and other hardgoods.
\n \nThis role will own the regulatory review process from product development through launch and ongoing compliance, ensuring our formulations, ingredients, labels, packaging, and marketing claims meet applicable requirements across the markets where we operate. The ideal candidate combines strong regulatory expertise with a builder’s mindset, bringing structure to evolving processes, identifying risks early, and translating complex requirements into clear, actionable guidance for cross-functional partners.
\n \nResponsibilities:
\nRegulatory Compliance & Product Development
\n- \n
- Own regulatory reviews for product formulations, labels, packaging, and claims across Woof’s portfolio, identifying potential compliance risks early in development. \n
- Translate applicable federal, state, and international regulatory requirements into practical guidance for Product Development and other cross-functional teams. \n
- Ensure pet food, treats, and supplements comply with relevant FDA requirements, state feed laws, and AAFCO guidelines, including applicable registrations, labeling, and reporting requirements. \n
- Support compliance with relevant animal supplement requirements and industry standards, including NASC guidelines, quality programs, and adverse event reporting, as applicable to the product portfolio. \n
- Oversee regulatory considerations for toys, accessories, and hardgoods, including California Proposition 65, REACH, restricted substances, chemical safety, and relevant product testing requirements. \n
- Review and approve product labels, required disclosures, warnings, packaging, website content, and marketing claims for regulatory compliance and appropriate substantiation. \n
- Serve as the primary escalation point for regulatory questions and potential risks involving product formulas, labeling, claims, or launch readiness. \n
Regulatory Infrastructure & Process Development
\n- \n
- Maintain Woof’s regulatory infrastructure, including regulatory tracking systems, registration calendars, claims documentation, and standardized review workflows. \n
- Continuously evaluate and improve regulatory processes, identifying gaps, reducing unnecessary complexity, and creating more efficient ways to manage reviews and approvals. \n
- Partner with external regulatory consultants, testing laboratories, and compliance platforms to support filings, testing protocols, documentation, and ongoing compliance. \n
Product Safety, Packaging & Environmental Compliance
\n- \n
- Coordinate product safety and compliance testing for applicable hardgoods and accessories, working with third-party laboratories to establish testing requirements and evaluate results before launch. \n
- Support packaging and environmental compliance initiatives, including emerging Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements, packaging material reporting, recyclability, and applicable sustainability claims. \n
Cross-Functional Partnership & Regulatory Strategy
\n- \n
- Partner proactively with Product Development, Quality, Marketing, Operations, and Legal to incorporate regulatory requirements into product development and launch timelines. \n
- Monitor emerging regulations and industry developments, communicating potential business impacts and recommended actions to leadership early enough to inform product and business decisions. \n
- Provide clear, business-oriented recommendations that balance regulatory requirements, product safety, launch timelines, and commercial priorities. \n
Qualifications & Experience:
\n- \n
- 7–10+ years of regulatory affairs experience in the CPG industry, with at least 5 years specifically in the pet industry. \n
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Pre-Law, or a related field (Master’s degree or JD is a plus). \n
- Experience with product compliance, formulation reviews, labeling, claims substantiation, and regulatory risk assessment. \n
- Working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements for pet consumables and/or consumer product safety, with familiarity in areas such as FDA requirements, AAFCO guidelines, state feed laws, NASC standards, Proposition 65, or REACH depending on prior product experience. \n
- Demonstrated ability to build or improve regulatory processes, systems, documentation, or workflows in a growing organization. \n
- Experience managing regulatory trackers, registration calendars, claims documentation, or compliance management systems. \n
- Experience partnering with external regulatory consultants, testing laboratories, or other compliance providers. \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical regulatory requirements into clear, actionable business guidance. \n
Preferred Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Direct experience in the pet food, treats, supplements, or broader pet products industry. \n
- Familiarity with both consumables and hardgoods compliance requirements. \n
- Experience with product safety testing standards, restricted substances, packaging compliance, or EPR regulations. \n
- Experience establishing a regulatory function or compliance infrastructure from the ground up in a startup or other resource-conscious environment. \n
Key Attributes:
\n- \n
- An excellent work ethic & willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed \n
- Strong collaboration and teamwork by actively partnering with colleagues, sharing information, and supporting collective goals \n
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment \n
- A love of dogs! \n
Compensation & Benefits:
\n- \n
- Annual compensation range: $160-170K \n
- Hybrid work environment (3 days in office) \n
- Medical, dental, vision, supplemental life, and pet insurance \n
- Flexible PTO Policy \n
- Paid Parental & Maternity Leave \n
- Employer-sponsored 401K \n
- Bring your dog to the workplace option! \n
- Generous team discounts across Woof and TFD merchandise lines \n
This position will remain open until November 23, 2026; however, the posting may be closed earlier if a successful candidate is identified.
\n \nBackground Check
\nWoof may conduct background checks on applicants and employees where permitted by applicable law. Where required, Woof will provide appropriate disclosures and obtain authorization in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable laws, including the Colorado Employment Opportunity Act.
