Caregiver PositionTitle: CaregiverCompany: Colony Care of Sherman Oaks/Valley Glen (DBA Cottages at the Colony)Reports to: Executive AdministratorLocation: Sherman Oaks, CAOvertime: DAILY and WEEKLY Overtime pay on 3 shiftsAbout Cottages at the ColonyCottages at the Colony is a leading provider of affordable, boutique-style residential assisted living services in Sherman Oaks and Valley Glen, CA that specializes in offering a coordinated and integrated system of care to high-acuity older adults with multiple chronic illnesses, including Alzheimer's and other dementia.Cottages at the Colony differentiates itself by providing complex care and medical services coordination in a home-like environment, communicating effectively, and making resident and family satisfaction its top priority.Position SummaryResponsible for assisting residents with their daily living activities and other care needs, as directed by the Executive Administrator and members of the Care Operations team. We seek a self-motivated, compassionate, responsible, and energetic individual to help foster a positive and supportive environment for our residents. The ideal candidate should be flexible and able to adapt to a work environment that requires frequent shifts in direction. Caregivers should have excellent communication skills with an expectation to clearly and timely express resident changes and concerns to the Executive Administrator.Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and transferring.Assist residents with self-administration of medications.Engage residents with activities.Documentation/communication of resident's activities, ADLs, and changes.Prepare and serve meals according to the menu, with modifications for dietary needsPerform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environmentSupport individuals with dementiaEnsure resident confidentialityQualificationsCriminal background clearance (Required by State)Caregiving: 1 year experience in Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Home Care or other direct care experience (Preferred)Ability to work with older adults, including willingness to work with those with behavioral challengesExperience with dementia care and Hoyer lifts is a plusWork Environment & What We Offer:Competitive PayHealth, Vision, and Dental InsurancePaid Sick LeavePaid TrainingEmployee Advance ProgramReferral ProgramDeferred Profit-Sharing Plan401K
