Job Description

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and packaging of surgical instruments and patient care equipment. This role ensures that all instruments are properly sterilized, maintained, and ready for surgical use, supporting clinical operations efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Decontaminate, prep, and package surgical instruments and patient care equipment according to established protocols.
• Operate sterilizers and maintain sterilization processes to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the Instrument Tracking system (ABACUS/MICROSYSTEMS preferred).
• Handle heavy trays and sterilization carts, requiring prolonged standing and physical effort.
• Follow guidelines for material handling, wrapping, and sterilization methods for all instrument sets and trays.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in sterile processing, with a preference for candidates with 10+ years.
• Have a thorough knowledge of orthopedic and neuro surgical instruments.
• Exhibit strong teamwork skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Basic computer literacy for tracking and documentation purposes.
