Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Room nursing License: GA or Compact nursing license required Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS - PALS Must-Have: - Epic experience required - Travel experience required (minimum 3 ER contracts preferred) Description: The Emergency Room is large and busy. Travel experience is mandatory. Candidates with 1-2 completed travel assignments will be screened. The patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics. A high acuity environment requires proficient skills in emergency care. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. The facility averages 165-175 patients daily. Certification in Stroke and STEMI is crucial. The charting system used is Epic. The uniform required is navy blue scrubs. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend unless specified otherwise. Holiday work is mandatory for assignments that include major holidays. Compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to begin employment. The role involves managing high-pressure situations and various emergency cases. Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary support services are essential. Skills in critical patient care procedures and emergency interventions are needed. Flexibility to float within the scope of practice may be necessary but is rare. Candidates must adhere to a maximum of 7 days for requested time off. All time off requests must be finalized upon submission. Full compliance is required to start on time. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality emergency medical care.
