Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
  • Active Maine Physical Therapy license required to start the assignment.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
  • Experience working in outpatient settings preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in comprehensive patient evaluation, treatment planning, documentation, and charge entry.
  • Ability to follow physician orders and insurance requirements for clinical care.
  • Willingness to participate in student supervision and precepting as assigned (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior travel or temporary assignment experience preferred.
  • Experience with functional treatment programs and patient education preferred.
  • Engagement in professional development and continuing education preferred.

Assignment Details

  • Work schedule: 5x8.

Impacting Patient Care

Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to progress patients toward discharge goals. Complete clear, concise, accurate, and timely documentation including goal writing, letters of medical necessity, and functional quality indicator assessments. Provide discipline-specific direction and delegation for patient care. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and adhere to state Practice Act, professional codes of conduct, and clinic policies. Maintain professional licensure and complete required continuing education. Prioritize patient and employee safety through safe patient handling, infectious disease precautions, and workplace hazard reporting.
