UPMC Mercy is seeking a dedicated and motivated Full-Time Pre/Post Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Surgical Services team, supporting both the UPMC Mercy Pavilion & the Main Pre/Post teams. This role offers the opportunity to care for patients across a wide range of surgical specialties-including ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, gynecology, and OMFS-while working through the full perioperative continuum from pre-op to Phase I and Phase II recovery. Our team is known for high staff engagement, exceptional teamwork, and outstanding patient experience, with Mercy Pavilion ranking in the 90th percentile nationally for Press Ganey scores. • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required

• BSN preferred (Master's degree may substitute for certification requirements where applicable)

• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and ability to provide age-appropriate care

• Strong ability to assess, interpret, and respond to patient needs

• Maintains performance rating of 'Solid/Strong/Good' or higher for promotion and continued status

• Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex clinical environment

• Builds and maintains positive relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams

• Physical ability for standing, walking, lifting, and patient positioning, along with manual dexterity

Professional Development Requirements for Sr. level & above:

• Completion of one of the following within 1 year of hire/transfer:

• Approved professional contribution, or

• UPMC-approved nursing certification (must be maintained)

• Certification not required if holding a Master's in Nursing or DNP

• If BSN is held, a Master's degree in a related field may substitute for certification

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Must be valid in the state of practice or via Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)

• BLS/CPR certification (AHA-approved) required within 30 days of hire

• Act 34 clearance required

• UPMC-approved certification preferred

Additional Requirements

• Must maintain required credentials and performance standards

• Employees using an out-of-state compact license must obtain in-state licensure within 60 days of residency change
