Interm Front Desk / Host

Positions to be Filled: (July-End of November) 

• Front Desk/Host  Morning(10AM-4PM) + Weekend Hosts (AM+PM) (Hoildays Required) 

Classification:
Education and/or Experience
• High School diploma or GED or higher.
• Minimum one year of experience in hospitality, private club, or high-end service environment preferred.

General Requirements
• Represents The GeorgeTown Club with professionalism, courtesy, and discretion at all times.
• Reports to work punctually, neatly groomed, and dressed in accordance with Club appearance standards.
• Engages Members, guests, and colleagues in a warm and professional manner.
• Adheres to all Club policies, service standards, and safety guidelines.
• Immediately reports incidents, concerns, or safety hazards to management.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Provides a friendly, anticipatory greeting to all Members and guests upon arrival.
• Enforces dress code policy when appropriate and provides jackets or ties as needed.
• Manages dining, event, and private room reservations through the Club’s reservation system.
• Answers and directs incoming calls with professionalism; relays accurate messages and information.
• Coordinates special requests and concierge services (transportation, dining arrangements, reciprocal clubs, etc.)
• Maintains a current database of reciprocal clubs and prepares letters of introduction for Members.
• Assists with Member and guest inquiries regarding Club facilities, hours, and upcoming events.
• Handles coat check and the safekeeping of personal items such as umbrellas, bags, and packages.
• Manages mail and deliveries, including sorting, posting, and overnight courier services.
• Assists with administrative projects such as printing, labeling, mailings, and event materials.
• Updates daily reservation and event boards for staff and Member awareness.
• Maintains the cleanliness and presentation of the lobby, reception, and coatroom areas.
• Ensures proper desk coverage before leaving the reception area unattended.
• Supports dining room and service staff by printing reservation sheets and communicating guest details.
• Assists with end-of-day procedures, including notifying Members that the Club is closing and securing the building.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management to support overall Club operations.

Required Skills and Abilities
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a polished, service-oriented demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic office equipment.
• Familiarity with club management or POS systems (e.g., ClubEssential, Jonas) preferred.
• Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential Member information.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Licenses and Certifications
• CPR and AED certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as prolonged periods standing to greet guests and hanging coats.
• Must be able to regularly stand to greet guests.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, push and pull over the course of a shift.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be able to operate all related equipment.
• Must be able to repeatedly lift and reach overhead to hang coats.
• Must be able to lift 15lbs overhead regularly.
• Must be able to periodically lift and carry up to 25lbs over the course of a shift.
• Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts Pay Scale and Benefits
