Field Application Engineer

We are recruiting a Field Application Engineer for a customer-facing technical role supporting advanced embedded computing and signal-processing technologies used in aerospace, defense, and other demanding applications.
This is a remote/home-based position , but the employee must reside in the Austin, Texas area. We are considering candidates nationwide who are willing to relocate to Austin , and relocation assistance is available.
This role requires approximately 50% travel , including overnight and multi-day customer visits, typically totaling about two weeks per month depending on customer demand.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
What You’ll Do
Provide technical pre-sales support and partner with regional sales managers on customer opportunities.
Gather customer requirements and recommend appropriate embedded computing solutions.
Support FPGA/DSP-based systems, RF, analog, and signal-processing applications.
Present products, application solutions, technical capabilities, and technology roadmaps to customers.
Collaborate across sales, engineering, product, and customer teams to solve technical challenges.
Support opportunities from technical discovery through implementation and ongoing customer engagement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Customer-facing experience in field applications engineering, sales engineering, systems engineering, or technical pre-sales.
Strong knowledge of embedded computing systems and hardware/software integration.
Technical experience with FPGA, DSP, RF, analog circuitry, and signal processing.
Experience gathering technical requirements and developing product or system recommendations.
Strong technical presentation, communication, customer-facing, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to meet the position’s travel requirements.
Experience with aerospace/defense applications, VPX/OpenVPX, SOSA, MOSA, PCIe, or GPU computing is a plus.
Salary Range: $130,000–$165,000
