Position : Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician

Working Location : Peoria, IL

We are seeking a full-time, Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician to join our team in Peoria, IL whose main responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring Procedures including Pre-operational sanitation, Product Temperatures. Zero Tolerance Checks. Metal Detector Checks, and Label Verifications.
• Overseeing tools, utensils and other potentially dangerous equipment that are distributed daily.
• Monitoring mixing for products/ingredients for tampering, foreign objects, and accuracy.
• Managing non-compliance and assess root causes and provide suggested corrective actions.
• Ensuring all Food Safety, SQF, and Safety policies are followed.
• Making sure all employees are wearing proper PPE specific to their job areas and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Actively surveying Food Security and Defense procedures inside the facility and its operations.

Minimum Qualifications (Required) :

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Background in Quality Assurance/Food Safety, preferably within the protein industry.
• Must be able to utilize universal computer software.

Preferred Qualifications :

• HACCP Certifications advantageous.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a team of technicians and perform duties with minimal direction.
• Ability to engage with all levels of the company to ensure commitment to change.
