What You'll Do as a General Foreperson
- Lead and manage Forepersons and Assistant General Forepersons
- Plan and oversee production, bid new work, and meet revenue targets
- Collaborate with utility foresters/inspectors to clarify specs and address issues
- Visit job sites, review hazard surveys, and enforce safety practices
- Ensure employees receive proper training and performance feedback
- Identify and develop high-potential employees for leadership roles
- Maintain records for man hours, equipment, materials, incidents, permits, and more
- Coordinate with Corporate on timekeeping, billing, recruiting, and employee relations
- Take a lead role in safety for employees, customers, and the public
- Promote a positive team environment and strong customer relationships
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Leadership experience in utility line clearance (Foreperson or Asst. General Foreperson level)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of tree identification, growth habits, and arboriculture techniques
- Understanding of utility drawings, voltage, and line equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Valid driver's license, CDL, and medical certificate (as required)
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and skills tests
Physical Demands
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
