Mueller Company (Mueller Co.), the nation’s leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an immediate opening for a Buyer/Planner in our Cleveland, TN facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies. Maintain day to day communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, system data integrity, and ordering parameters for individual materials Schedule production within production environment by issuing work orders and maintaining schedules Maintain ideal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries, while maximizing turns, and minimizing carrying costs Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Perform a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected Understand the dynamics of effective teamwork to attain higher levels of performance Understands lean manufacturing and can demonstrate various lean practices Demonstrate a commitment to engage teams in other departments or divisions of the organization REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to effectively work in a team. Knowing role on team, based on project/task Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve goals through influence Cultural knowledge and sensitivity Possess and analytical mindset Ability to adapt to system/technology changes as well as use of current systems Strong organizational skills Ability to blend multiple sources of data to formulate opinions and recommendations Exposure to global thought process and diversity.
