Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Operating Room Transplant Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in liver transplantation and related surgical cases. License: Must have a valid license in hand prior to the start date. Certifications: BCLS and NBSTSAS required. Must-Have: Experience scrubbing liver recipient transplants independently. Strong experience in large open belly cases, general surgery, urology, thoracic, gynecological, plastics, Whipple procedures, liver resections, and free flap surgeries. Experience with the DaVinci XI surgical system.

Description: The candidate must have the ability to scrub liver recipient transplants independently. Experience and competency in large, complex abdominal surgeries are essential. The role requires a strong understanding and practical application of aseptic techniques. Experience in performing surgeries such as abdominal hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, nephrectomy, and radical neck dissection is preferred. Daily average surgical case volume is approximately 35, requiring adaptability and proficiency in a fast-paced environment. The position may involve floating to general surgery when necessary. Candidates should have knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes. Strong communication skills and the capacity to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team are vital. The candidate will be expected to perform consistently and efficiently to ensure high-quality patient care. Flexibility with call requirements of 40-60 hours in a 6-week schedule. Experience with high acuity patients and in a teaching hospital environment is preferred. All travelers must be willing to adhere to floating requirements within their roles.
