Final Filing Date: 9/29/2026 The Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) is a technical expert who analyzes, designs, develops, implements, documents, troubleshoots, and supports complex enterprise system interfaces and production batch processes for the Enterprise Integration Services Section within the Information Technology Division. The ITS I works independently to provide department-wide support for data integration tasks, including system interfaces, data conversions, application updates, and production batch operations for the Department of FISCal’s(FI$Cal) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The incumbent provides ongoing operational support and resolves production issues in a timely manner to ensure the FI$Cal system continues to meet business needs while using new technologies and industry best practices. The ITS I ensures that all work aligns with the department’s overall business and technology goals and objectives. The ITS I helps document new and changing system features, business processes, and data flows within the FI$Cal system. The incumbent also supports the development, implementation, and continual improvement of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) processes and procedures. Although the duties for this position are primarily within the Software Engineering domain, assignments in otherdomains may be given as needed. Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. The applicant should have experience developing and maintaining Shell, Bash, Python, or PERL scripts for automation. The applicant should have experience working with cloud platforms.
