Dispatcher Dispatcher Department: Palomar College Police (Dept) Palomar College Date Opened: 08/31/2026 Close Date: 09/14/2026 Primary Function Receives and prioritizes calls for service; dispatches personneland equipment via radio voice communication using a computer-aideddispatch system; coordinates with other agencies during in-progresscalls and regional incidents. Salary $5,323.75 [step 1] – $6,472.20 [step 5]. Step placement may benegotiable within this range dependent upon education andexperience. A 3% differential pay will be paid for hours worked between6:00 pm and 10:00 pm. A 6% differential pay will be paid for hoursworked between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provideevidence of the following minimum qualifications: Experience: One year of experience receivingemergency and non-emergency calls in a public safetyenvironment. Note: For work experience, a“year” is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12months. Education Education: Equivalent to completion of thetwelfth grade. Transcripts must be included to receive credit for education and/orto substitute education in lieu of experience (i.e. Bachelor'sdegree = 4 years of experience).
