CDL Driver / Boom Lift Operator

Rochester, NY · $28–33/hour + overtime

Position Overview

The CDL Driver / Boom Lift Operator is responsible for the safe, timely delivery of materials from branch locations to customer job sites. This role requires compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations, safe operation of delivery equipment including boom trucks or Moffett, and strong communication with customers, dispatch, and internal teams. Reliability, safety awareness, and teamwork are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate company delivery vehicles in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Maintain a valid CDL Class A or B license and medical card
• Complete required DOT logs documenting time on duty and driving hours
• Perform daily DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting issues to ensure timely maintenance
• Safely transport materials from branch locations to customer job sites
• Secure, tarp, and protect loads based on weather and delivery requirements
• Operate boom truck or Moffett to unload materials safely and efficiently
• Communicate job site concerns such as unsafe conditions or customer questions to the office promptly
• Assist forklift operators with truck loading and unloading
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as required (training provided if needed)
• Maintain good housekeeping standards in trucks, yard, warehouse, and office areas

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid CDL Class A or B license with clean driving record
• Valid medical card
• Minimum 2–3 years of commercial driving experience
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check
• Boom truck or Moffett operating experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Ability to lift, move, push, or pull materials weighing up to 75 lbs with assistance
