Warehouse General Labor / Lumper Associate

On Target Staffing is hiring Warehouse General Labor / Lumper Associates for warehouse opportunities in Midway, GA. We are looking for dependable, safety-conscious individuals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not required for all assignments.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary by assignment and may include:

• Load and unload trucks, trailers, containers, and pallets.
• Manually unload, carry, sort, stack, and organize products and materials.
• Pick, pack, label, shrink-wrap, palletize, and prepare orders for shipment.
• Build and organize pallets while following proper stacking and weight-distribution procedures.
• Move products to designated warehouse locations and assist with inventory put-away and replenishment.
• Inspect incoming shipments for visible damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report concerns to a supervisor.
• Assist with inventory counts and basic inventory documentation.
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment as required for the assignment.
• Operate forklifts or other powered industrial equipment only when properly trained, evaluated, and authorized.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas by sweeping, removing debris, disposing of packaging materials, and organizing warehouse areas.
• Follow company and worksite safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors, loaders, warehouse associates, and other team members to meet operational needs.
• Perform other warehouse and general labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, general labor, loading/unloading, or material-handling experience is preferred but not required for all assignments.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Spanish and/or Haitian Creole language skills are a plus for assignments where those skills may assist with job-related workplace communication; however, they are not required for employment.
• Forklift or powered industrial equipment experience is a plus but is not required for all assignments.
• Employees will not operate forklifts or other powered industrial equipment unless they have completed required training and evaluation and have been authorized to operate the equipment in accordance with applicable OSHA requirements.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or alternate shifts when required by the specific assignment.

Physical Requirements

Depending on the assignment, the position may require employees to:

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull throughout the shift.
• Perform repetitive material-handling tasks.
• Regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds, where lifting is an essential function of the particular assignment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Perform the essential functions of the assigned position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

Warehouse conditions vary by assignment and may include:

• Indoor warehouse or distribution center environments.
• Varying temperatures.
• Moderate to high noise levels.
• Dust and other conditions typically associated with warehouse operations.
• Extended periods of standing and walking.

Pay

$17.00 per hour. Nonexempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal and state law.

Schedule: Schedules and shifts vary by assignment. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on operational needs.
