Full Stack JavaScript Engineer

Velocity is on a mission to establish Polkadot as the best ecosystem to build DeFi applications. We deliver comprehensive engineering, product, and Go-To-Market support, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new builders on Polkadot.

Responsibilities

As a Full Stack JavaScript Engineer at Velocity, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic and fast-paced team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and/or maintain essential tooling and user interfaces (UIs) with a focus on improving both UX and DevEx on Polkadot
• Producing high integrity documentation for all the product that Velocity develops
• Providing hands-on technical support to DeFi teams working on developing parachains or dApps within our ecosystem.
• Conducting code reviews and perform testing for applicants of the DeFi Infra & Tooling Bounty that Velocity operates.
• Conducting product research to identify opportunities for improvement with new and existing tooling.
• Providing integration support for parachain teams adopting our products and tools.
• Build communication channels with both Parity and Parachain engineers to keep up to date with the technical developments in Polkadot

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have the following technical qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including Node.js and front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
• Proven experience with full stack development, including backend and frontend technologies.
• Familiarity with blockchain technology and smart contract development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a remote team and with several outside stakeholders.

Nice to Have's

While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experience are considered advantageous:

• In-depth knowledge of the Polkadot ecosystem and its technologies.
• Previous experience in building decentralized applications (dApps) in the DeFi space.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with Substrate, a blockchain development framework.
