Team Lead - Server Repair Dept.Grapevine, TX - Grapevine, TX 76051OverviewSalary Range $25.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift 2nd Shift Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Category Installation - Maint - RepairDescriptionThe Server Repair Tech will be responsible for testing, trouble shooting, and replacement of parts on servers sent to SMS for diagnosis and repair.Daily Responsibilities 90%:Inspect, test, and diagnose serversReplace parts as neededConduct and analyze server stress testsDocument all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in shop floor toolCollaborate with motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, whole unit repair, and inspections personnelProvide back up for QC, inspection, whole unit repair, and motherboard testingMaintain parts consumptionOther duties as assigned by leadershipTeam building & leadership 10%:Maintain and nurture positive work environmentWork and collaborate with other teams such as warehouse, shipping, receiving, etc.Follow process for system and parts managementOther Personal Skills Required:Know basic server architectureKnow how to assemble components to make server functionalRun and understand testing diagnosticsUnderstand basic networking architectureUnderstand basic error codesAble to trouble shoot common server errors and issuesMotivated to solve problemsInterested in constantly learning about servers and networkingIncreased understanding of testing and error codesBrings knowledge to enhance trouble shooting and diagnosis of failuresUnderstands end to end flow of server repair processKnow Linux commands and able to use terminal.Offers insights on process improvementUnderstands MB repair process, prefer if can read schematics.Provides feedback and collaborates with MB repair teamQualificationsEducation and Experience:Education High school diploma or equivalent technical experience, certifications in Server support and architecture desiredExperience troubleshooting and diagnosing servers, experience with computer tools such as email, spreadsheets, and call tracking or shop repair toolsExperience with replacing parts on serversExperience with server configurationGood written and verbal skills needs to documents errors and repairsIndustry/Environment: Prefer to have worked in a PC or server type of environmentMust be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.SMSs Competencies:Shows determination to achieve excellent resultsCommitted to Process ImprovementDemands top performanceInspires commitmentPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and stand for long periods of time.Employee must be able to lift objects approximately up to 30lbsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Working ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit/stand for long periods.
