JOB DESCRIPTION

The Broadcast and Video Production Instructor leads a profession-based Digital Media Production pathway at the Canyons Innovation Center (CIC), including content creation and social media production coursework. The classroom operates as a working production house in partnership with CSDtv, with students pitching, producing, and delivering real work for real clients across broadcast, video, and social platforms. The instructor functions more like a creative director and executive producer than a traditional lecturer, staying current on social media trends and platforms and building that knowledge into curriculum, while maintaining a safe, positive learning environment. This position is hired one full year ahead of student instruction, beginning Fall 2026 with students arriving Fall 2027.

Support partnerships with local production companies, broadcast outlets, agencies, and creative professionals, and participate in cross-pathway design work, including producing client work for student teams in other CIC pathways. Design and facilitate project-based, real-world learning correlated with industry-aligned competencies, beginning lesson design with a deliverable rather than a worksheet, and treating class time as production time. Coach students through the full client cycle, from intake through production, revision, delivery, and post-launch debrief. Facilitate a profession-based capstone course with public exhibitions, screenings, or broadcast premieres as authentic demonstrations of mastery. Teach content creation and social media production courses, and stay current on platforms, algorithms, trends, and influencer and creator culture to keep curriculum and CSDtv's social channels current.
