Public Finance Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Public Finance Associate with 3-8 years of experience to join its New York City office. The role involves handling a wide range of financing matters involving state or local governmental entities, including municipal bonds, tax‑exempt or taxable obligations, and public‑private partnerships. Duties Manage municipal bond transactions and other public finance matters. Assist with IRS audits and SEC investigations. Participate in public‑private partnership projects. Engage in secondary market repackagings and securitizations. Support bankruptcy and work‑out processes. Requirements Three to eight years of relevant law firm experience. Superior client service skills and high motivation. Membership in the Bar of a U.S. State. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Certifications Bar membership in a U.S. State. Skills Strong transactional background. Experience in public finance transactions and securities law preferred. Excellent writing and communication skills.
