Job Summary

Hotel on North is a modern boutique hotel located in the heart of Pittsfield. We pride ourselves on delivering genuine, attentive hospitality and creating meaningful connections with our guests.

We are seeking a Front Office Manager to lead our front desk team. This role oversees the daily operations of the front desk, guest service agents, and groups. The Front Office Manager creates outstanding guest experiences, maximizes room revenue, and ensures smooth interdepartmental communication.  

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on shift coverage by regularly working the desk during peak check-in and check-out times.

• Being the person who covers open shifts.  

• Delivering personalized service by welcoming VIPs, frequent corporate travelers, and leisure guests.

• Service recovery by actively resolving guest complaints with empathy and autonomy.

• Manage room inventory.

• Handle all aspects of group bookings in coordination with our Sales department.

• Fostering exceptional team performance in an environment where the staff is empowered to make things right for our guests.

• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth daily hotel operations.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous hotel management experience.

• A positive, can-do attitude.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a busy environment

• Hotel computer system literacy.

• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

• Must have open availability to work a varied schedule, including mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Expectations & Physical Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be able to:

• Maintain a professional, attentive presence.

• Stand for extended periods of time.

• Move throughout the lobby and guest areas as needed to assist guests.

• Lift and transport items up to 30 pounds, including luggage and packages.

• Make decisions using independent judgment within company policy.

• Be able to manage and motivate others.

• Speak and write clearly and accurately.
