Job Summary We are seeking an Automation Technician for the 3rd or weekend shift to join our growing Operations department. This role involves planning, installing, programming, maintaining, and replacing electrical equipment and electronic controls across automated production processes. The technician works independently, troubleshoots equipment issues, and upholds quality and efficiency standards. Responsibilities Read and interpret complex blueprints, specifications, work orders, and bills of material. Complete point-to-point wiring and install a wide variety of electronic components including PLCs, relays, lights, switches, etc. Set up and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and servo systems. Gather internal stakeholders' requirements and create specifications, electrical systems, and wiring diagrams for automation control systems and equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance per HARTING requirements and maintenance plans, making adjustments in coordination with the responsible group leader. Proactively contribute to process and maintenance optimization within the lean management system. Support handling complaints caused by defects in production equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of a high school diploma; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Mechanical or electrical background. Database reporting and management skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Shift Schedule 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM Compensation Competitive hourly rate: $25.00 /hr – $35.00 /hr (commensurate with experience).
