Med Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Med Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. The RN will work 4x12 hour shifts and must have cardiac experience. This role offers the opportunity to work in two different units during each shift based on the needs of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in medical, surgical, and telemetry units.
• Utilize the Cerner documentation system to maintain accurate patient records.
• Ensure every other weekend coverage as part of the scheduling requirements.
• Contribute to effective patient observation in collaboration with the Avasure video monitoring system.
• Participate in bed meetings to assess unit staffing needs.

Patient Population

The patient population in this role includes individuals in medical, surgical, and observation units with a focus on those requiring cardiac monitoring.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current state license.
• 2-3 years of nursing experience with cardiac care.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Experience with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic or Cerner.

Work Schedule

This position involves 4 night shifts per week, from 19:00 to 07:00. A block schedule is not available.

Shift Cancellation Policy

The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment and up to 2 shifts during a 6-8 week assignment. Shift cancellations must be for the length of a scheduled shift and cannot be broken into smaller increments.

Guaranteed Hours

Guaranteed hours will be provided as follows:

• 36 hours for 3, 12-hour shifts.
• 48 hours for 4, 12-hour shifts.
• 40 hours for any shifts less than 12 hours.

The facility is financially responsible for all weekly guaranteed hours in case of cancellations or facility closures.
