Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team. **Principle Responsibilities*** Provides clinical care for patients + Completes comprehensive patient assessments. + Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness. + Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician. + Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment. + Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care. + Refers for specialty care when determined. + Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.**Required Qualifications*** Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program**Preferred Qualifications*** New Graduates may be considered.* Minimum 2 years experience in Orthopedics preferred**Licenses/Certifications*** Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire* BLS Tier 1 - Multisource required within 180 Days* Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) required upon hire* Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire**Physical Demands*** Medium Work\*:* Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (\*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently**Pay Range**### Pay Range: $58.75 to $81.29 per hour### The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
