Travel Nurse RN - Telemetry - $2,197 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Marion, Illinois.

Job Description & Requirements

UNIT: Neuro MS/TELE RN

 

Required Certs: Must have current active IL RN license (will accept an active temp IL License). AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.

Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med Surg/TELE, 1 travel assignment. Neuro experience required

 

Float Requirement: Could float to the medical unit

 

On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A

 

Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend. Every other holiday.

 

Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required
. 
Patient Population: Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients – CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, cerebral angiogram. General medical

Skillset: Will also need to be comfortable taking medical overflow patients. 
NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I’s & O’s/straight cath/Foleys, intitate/titrate heparin gtts., blood/blood product administration/venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!

Unit Information: 22 bed Neuro unit - ratios are 1:4 unless they have a high medical patient census they will put two nurse in a 1:5 ratio.

this unit sees a lot of spine/back surgeries and strokes.
they only take non titratable drips NO Amio or Cardizem
Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates
