Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) – Specialty Pharmacy / Infusion Support

Palm Beach Gardens, FL

$155,000–$180,000 + Bonus | Medical Benefits | 2 Weeks PTO

An established  specialty pharmacy supporting outpatient infusion centers is seeking an experienced  Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)to lead pharmacy operations and oversee the delivery of complex specialty medications used to treat chronic and autoimmune diseases.

Working closely with infusion nurses, physicians, patients, and insurance providers, you'll play a key leadership role in ensuring patients receive timely access to life-changing biologic and specialty therapies across a variety of therapeutic areas.

About the Pharmacy

This specialty pharmacy supports a network of  outpatient infusion centers , helping patients access high-cost biologic and specialty medications used to treat conditions including  rheumatology, gastroenterology, neurology, immunology, pulmonology, dermatology, osteoporosis, iron deficiency, and other complex chronic diseases .

Unlike a traditional retail pharmacy, the focus is on  clinical coordination rather than prescription volume . The team works closely with referring physicians, infusion nurses, and insurance providers to coordinate medication access, prior authorizations, reimbursement, patient education, and ongoing therapy management, ensuring patients receive the right treatment as quickly and safely as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
• Serve as Pharmacist in Charge and ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Lead, mentor, and develop pharmacy staff
• Manage specialty medication workflows from prescription intake through dispensing
• Collaborate with physicians, infusion nurses, case managers, and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care
• Support prior authorizations, appeals, benefits investigations, and reimbursement for specialty medications
• Provide patient counseling and education on biologic and specialty therapies
• Maintain inventory control, quality assurance, and operational excellence
• Ensure timely access to specialty medications while delivering an exceptional patient experience
• Build strong relationships with providers, patients, referral partners, and payer organizations

What We're Looking For

• Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist in Charge preferred
• Experience within  specialty pharmacy, infusion pharmacy, ambulatory infusion, biologics, rheumatology, gastroenterology, neurology, immunology, oncology, or other complex therapeutic areas
• Strong understanding of prior authorizations, insurance approvals, specialty medication reimbursement, and patient access
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Passion for improving patient outcomes and expanding access to specialty therapies
