Tell Me About My Job As our Senior Platform Engineer, you will design and evolve our Internal Developer Platform (IDP), creating “paved roads” that allow product teams to self‑service their infrastructure, deployments, and observability needs without manual ops work. You will be a core member of our engineering organization, working across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, security, and reliability to reduce cognitive load on our development teams and increase velocity. You’re the ideal candidate if… 6+ years of platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering experience focused on enabling development teams. Deep experience with Kubernetes – cluster design, workload management, RBAC, networking, and day‑to‑day operations. Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform, and have opinionated views on structuring and managing it at scale. Strong cloud provider knowledge, ideally GCP, with hands‑on experience in networking, IAM, compute, storage, and managed services. Built and maintained CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Flux and have a strong understanding of GitOps principles. Comfortable writing code in Python and adding instrumentation and contributing to the platform in areas intersecting cloud infrastructure / observability and applications. Experience designing and implementing observability stacks – logging, metrics, alerting, and tracing – and use them to drive reliability. Communicate clearly with non‑platform engineers, translating infrastructure concerns into actionable language for product teams. Duties / Responsibilities Own and evolve the Developer Experience, building self‑service capabilities that allow product engineers to build, deploy, and configure observability with quality and security. Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP using Kubernetes and managed services, ensuring security, reliability, and cost efficiency. Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, driving faster, safer, and consistent software delivery across teams. Lead the Infrastructure as Code practice using Terraform, setting standards for module design, state management, and change workflows. Improve site reliability across products, driving centralized logging and observability and enabling teams to better utilize observability platforms. Enforce and evolve security posture across cloud environments, including IAM policies, secrets management, network segmentation, and compliance controls. Reduce operational toil by identifying and automating repetitive infrastructure and deployment tasks. Partner with product engineering teams to understand infrastructure needs and translate them into platform capabilities and standards. Invest in documentation and knowledge‑sharing, including runbooks, setup guides, architecture decision records (ADRs), and onboarding materials. Nice to Have Experience with ArgoCD, Flux, or other GitOps tools. Familiarity with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd. Experience using LLM or agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to accelerate infrastructure work. Experience managing MongoDB, Postgres, and SQL Server in production. Experience with secrets management tools such as Vault, Doppler, or AWS Secrets Manager. Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001) and their infrastructure implications. Exposure to backend stack (Python, .NET, MongoDB, SQL Server, Kubernetes, Docker).
