Process Engineer

Process Engineer - Nonwovens Manufacturing Process Engineer will work at the Berkeley Plant in Hendersonville, NC, providing day‑to‑day support for non‑wovens manufacturing, focusing on continuous improvement, safety‑related systems, and process engineering for spunbond and carding technologies. The role reports to the Asset Leader and collaborates with plant operations, R&D, supply chain, equipment suppliers, procurement, and external vendors. Responsibilities Provide process engineering support to a set of non‑wovens, spunbond, and carding technologies. Lead by example in safety, ethics, quality, regulatory, sustainability, inclusion, and diversity, managing self in accordance with expected Kimberly‑Clark competencies. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including R&D, supply chain, plant operations, procurement, equipment suppliers, and external service providers—to develop product, brand, and mill process advancements. Translate stated needs, brand promises, and consumer feedback into tangible product attributes and the processes required to produce them. Maintain technical and scientific expertise in the area of technology and communicate the impact of developments on the company. Drive the development and execution of innovation‑based projects focused on long‑term competitive advantage and support a culture of protected and documented innovation through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets. Prior experience in a manufacturing or research environment through internship or full‑time employment. Strong understanding of polymer, textile, or non‑wovens technologies (preferred). Preferred Qualifications Experience improving the safe operation and risk reduction of high‑speed manufacturing or converting equipment, and ability to translate that experience into process, product, and capacity improvements. Ability to work independently or lead small, diverse teams, communicate technical issues effectively in a business environment, build trust‑based relationships with plant partners, analyze process data to identify improvement opportunities, and demonstrate flexibility in work scheduling. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Salary Base pay range: $79,880 – $94,440 USD (U.S. locations only). Eligibility for a target bonus, 401(k), and profit‑sharing plan.
