Job Description
MS/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated MS/Tele Registered Nurse to join our team. This position involves working on an Adult/Geriatric MedSurg unit, primarily focusing on medical-surgical and telemetry care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a MedSurg/Telemetry setting.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in their health status.
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
• Conduct assessments and develop nursing care plans based on individual patient needs.
• Assist with various procedures including, but not limited to, thoracentesis and managing COPD exacerbations.
• Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records using Cerner.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing role (1.5 years may be considered).
• Current, valid RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with conditions such as pneumonia, CVA, hypoxia, electrolyte imbalances, and renal failure is preferred.
• Ability to work every other weekend and two out of three major holidays.

Shift and Scheduling:

• Night shifts available: Four 12-hour shifts per week (17:00 - 05:30).
• Guaranteed hours: 40 hours in one workweek for 8 and 10-hour shifts; 36 hours for three 12-hour shifts; 48 hours for four 12-hour shifts.

Staffing Ratios:

The staffing ratio on the unit is approximately 1:5 to 1:6.
