Bank Teller Position

Responsible for greeting customers and handling broad-based banking service and customer transactions.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
2. Good interpersonal/team skills with ability to develop effective working relationships.
3. High School diploma or equivalency;
4. Ten key proficiency;
5. Previous personal/computer experience;

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 1-2 years teller/cash handling experience
2. Previous recent experience using ITI Teller Platform

Dimension of Job:

This position is responsible for extensive customer contact providing broad-based banking products. In addition to handling customer transactions, the teller will make recommendations of additional products and referrals to the customers as well as leads to the Bank officers. The teller is also responsible for following banking regulations and procedures while maintaining protection of the Bank's assets. This position may contain some approval and/or vault functions. It may also provide an opportunity to progress to a Lead Teller position by taking on and learning additional responsibilities, completing further training, and performing well at essential Vault functions.

Position Specific Responsibilities, Duties and Competencies:

1. Operational Functions:

1. Responsible for maintaining branch cash at appropriate levels as determined by management.
2. Communicate all Central vault transactions with Accounting Department.
3. Balance vault cash: prepare incoming and outgoing shipments.
4. Assist with daily balancing of cash to general ledger.
5. Assist with monitoring daily activity of assigned GL accounts; Mc/Visa, cash items, cash clearing, teller difference.
6. Perform basic paying and receiving functions including cashing checks, handling deposits, savings withdrawals, loan and escrow account.
7. Balance currency and coin.
8. Fill customer change orders.
9. Process mail and night depository.
10. Process cash advances.
11. Issue Cashier Checks, Visa Travel Money Cards and Visa gift cards.
12. Redeem US Savings Bonds.
13. Buy and Sell Canadian currency.
14. Prepare stop payment request as back up to Customer Service.
15. Balance ATM and stocks ATM supplies.
16. Balance coin counter.
17. Balance in-bank statements as assigned.
18. Buy and sell cash internally to and from vault supply.
19. Balance vault cash: prepare incoming and outgoing shipments.
20. Accurately and efficiently process all transactions/work through teller platform
21. Responsible to follow the maintenance schedule for your assigned image capturing machine.
22. Responsible for proper item storage and the protection of customer information.

2. Security/Cash Controls:

1. Safeguard assigned cash/currency at all times: adheres to cash limits.
2. Adhere to dual control procedure as defined by policy.
3. Balance assigned cash currency as defined by policy.
4. Process off-ages by end of day.
5. Assist with all other areas of securing the Bank's cash coin and negotiable instruments.

3. Sales/Public Relations:

1. Promote the improvement of Stockman Bank through quality customer service, promotion of products professionalism in conduct and diligent work ethic.
2. Greet all customers pleasantly and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
3. Handle transaction quickly and professionally.
4. Effectively handles customer questions and problems.
5. Use effective listening and observing skills to help identify and resolves customer needs.
6. Spot sales opportunities and refer business consistently.
7. Cross-sell other services whenever the opportunity arises.
8. Keep up to date on pricing and products.
9. Relay customer comments and or complaints to the Operations Officer immediately.
