PHYSICIAN (FHC) - Full-time and Part-time positions

Job Overview Under administrative direction, performs professional medical work of considerable difficulty. Responsible for diagnosing and treating patients of Family Health Centers (FHC). Responsibilities Diagnose patients and design appropriate treatment plans. Adhere to standards of patient care. Document components of the medical visit and other clinical information. Document routine screening (pelvic, breast). Analyze and interpret lab results and respond to abnormal results. Maintain follow-up of patients. Counsel patients regarding health status, risks, recommended actions and community resources. Consult with other medical providers regarding procedures, patient care and treatment. Adhere to patient call schedule as posted. Maintain sufficient patient volume, as established by the organization. Assist in the education of health profession students. Complete required paperwork for ongoing provider privileging and credentialing. Participate in Quality Improvement activities. Identify patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and/or other communication barriers and use appropriate interpretive services; document use. Adhere to standard precautions. Perform related work as required. Minimum Requirements Must possess a license to practice medicine in the State of Kentucky and maintain license throughout employment with FHC. Must obtain a Kentucky DEA license within 60 days of hire date and maintain it throughout employment. Must obtain CPR certification by the end of the probationary period and maintain it throughout employment. Special Requirements Must provide own transportation to work at other FHC locations as needed. Must be available to work a varied schedule, extra clinics (including Saturdays and evenings) and additional time beyond the clinic's regular schedule as necessary. Must be vaccinated for Hepatitis B, provide evidence of immunization or sign a declination form within 10 days of initial assignment. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Moves and/or lifts more than 100 lbs when positioning patients or assisting them on and off the examination table. Responds to patient and FHC needs via telephone, internet, fax, computer software and in person. Identifies medical record documentation, requests and/or releases.
