Security Specialist

Peraton is seeking a Security Specialist in our Linthicum, MD office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated, and high-performing team. Responsibilities include:

• Executing administration and coordination of DC3 security programs to ensure compliance with Department of Defense and DC3 security policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Ensuring compliance with security standards and providing guidance and support to staff members concerning all security administrative functions such as personnel security, information and system security, COMSEC, physical security and Industrial Security for the processing of DD FM 254s.
• Providing administrative security support associated with the receipt, distribution, inventory, reproduction, and disposition of classified material.
• Experience administering Document Control program.
• Reviewing applications for security clearances and clearance renewals.
• Administering and maintaining physical security procedures for visitor control, employee identification and safeguard of company facilities, equipment, materials, and employee property.
• Developing and conducting security briefings and security education programs.
• Providing oversight for programs for the protection of classified information as well as proprietary information.
• Assisting with preparation, transmittal, and receipt of visitor certifications.
• Processing incoming VARs via DISS or other transmissions.
• Experience administering DISS (Defense Information System for Security), (NBIS) National Background Investigation Services, and e-QIP as well as Continuous Enrollment (CE) program.
• Periodically inspecting the facility to ensure physical security measures are followed as well as daily EOD checks.
• Contributing to development, review, and disposition of standing operating procedures and continuous improvement initiatives for SCIFs and other TS level requirements.
• Creating and processing new hire badges and accesses.
• Assembling new hire packages and training material for incoming personnel.
• Working with Partner Engagement for visitor registration and check in for high level meetings to include foreign visitors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

• Associates degree and 10+ years of experience; OR Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience; OR Master's Degree and 6+ years of experience; OR 3 years with PhD. However, four (4) years of additional relevant experience or specialized training will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Federal and/or DoD security policies and procedures.
• Experience using the following systems: DISS, NBIS, CCTV Software, Access Control Software, Intrusion Detection Systems, FVS (Foreign Visitor System), JWICS/SIPR workstations, Scattered Castles, RAT (Risk Assessment Tool), Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), CDSE Account, and Document Control Software.
• Detail oriented customer service professional.
• Knowledge or experience with SCIF Accreditation preferred.
• Currently have or the ability to obtain DoD SPeD certification within 1 year of program start.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
