Job Title: Operating Theatre Clinical Specialist – Sweden Reporting to : Business Unit Director, General Surgery – Nordics Business Function: General Surgery – Nordics Job Summary The Operating Theatre Clinical Specialist supports CONMED's flagship technology AirSeal and is responsible for driving the clinical adoption, utilisation, and commercial success of the AirSeal platform across Laparoscopic and Robotic accounts. The role serves as the primary clinical and technical expert, supporting surgeons, operating room teams, and sales representatives throughout the customer journey - from evaluation and installation through routine procedural support and utilisation growth. The specialist acts as a trusted advisor, ensuring surgeons achieve optimal clinical outcomes while maximizing the value of AirSeal technology within their practice. Key Responsibilities Clinical Support Guide surgeons and clinical teams on system functionality, workflow, and best practices. Assist with pre-operative planning and intra-operative execution. Troubleshoot technical and procedural issues during cases. Ensure safe and effective utilisation of the AirSeal platform. Customer Education & Training Deliver training programs for surgeons, residents, nursing staff, Anaesthetists and operating room personnel. Conduct product demonstrations and clinical workshops. Support new customer onboarding and certification processes. Develop long-term relationships with surgeon and Anaesthetists champions and key opinion leaders. Commercial Support Partner with sales representatives to support account acquisition and utilisation growth. Participate in product evaluations and customer presentations. Demonstrate the clinical and economic benefits of robotic-assisted surgery. Support business reviews and utilisation planning with hospital stakeholders. Operational Excellence Coordinate case coverage schedules and clinical support activities. Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and procedural support. Collaborate with field service teams to ensure equipment readiness. Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to leadership. Compliance (applicable to all CONMED employees) Adhere to and uphold all company policies and regulatory standards, including business conduct, corporate ethics, quality system compliance, and regulatory affairs. Proactively familiarise yourself with the specific policies and requirements relevant to your role, ensuring these standards are fully integrated into daily operations and long-term strategic planning. Consult with management or relevant departments as needed to guarantee full compliance with corporate policies and regulatory obligations. Person Specification Clinical Credibility Ability to engage confidently with surgeons and surgical teams. Strong understanding of anatomy, MIS, and surgical techniques. Communication Skills Exceptional presentation and training abilities. Capable of translating technical information into practical clinical benefits. Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills. Problem Solving Ability to make decisions quickly in high-pressure operating room environments. Troubleshoots clinical and technical challenges effectively. Customer Focus Builds long-term relationships based on trust and expertise. Delivers a consistently high level of customer service. Business Acumen Understands utilisation metrics, procedural economics, and business drivers. Supports revenue growth through increased adoption and customer engagement. Education and Qualifications A full, valid driving licence. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare discipline. Languages Fluent in Swedish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Preferred Proficiency in additional Nordic languages. Experience and Technical Knowledge Previous medical device or surgical experience. Understanding of minimal invasive/Laparoscopic procedures.
