Role Overview

The Power Engineer will lead the delivery of advanced electrification solutions that enable high‑performance, energy‑efficient, and decarbonized power systems for customers across energy, maritime, and industrial sectors. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering GE Vernova's Power Conversion and Storage technologies, working at the intersection of motors, power electronics, drives, and control systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with major global customers to understand their operational challenges and translate them into innovative, reliable, and efficient electrification solutions. Your work will directly support the transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy systems by enabling high‑performance applications that demand precision, resilience, and reduced carbon impact. Through technical leadership, cross‑functional coordination, and a commitment to excellence, you will help advance GEV's mission to accelerate energy efficiency and decarbonization worldwide.

Your Impact

Deliver high‑quality field service support for medium‑ and high‑voltage (MV/HV) electrical systems, ensuring all work meets GEV's standards for EHS, quality, and on‑time delivery. Carry out testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance using MV/HV electrical test equipment, applying sound engineering judgement and recognized industry practices. Develop and continuously expand your technical expertise, staying current with evolving technologies, standards, and best practices across power conversion, drives, motors, and control systems. Prepare and complete all required documentation, including safety plans, risk assessments, method statements, inspection reports, technical reports, material requisitions, customer updates, timesheets, and travel & living expenses. Act as a trusted technical representative on customer sites, building strong relationships, understanding operational needs, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout service delivery. Collaborate with engineering, project, and commercial teams to support issue resolution, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of service processes and product performance. Mobilize internationally at short notice, supporting customers primarily across the UK, Africa, and the Middle East while operating from a home‑based location.

Special Role Requirements

Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments. Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments. Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

The ideal candidate should be a technically skilled, customer‑focused field service professional who thrives in dynamic environments, solves problems proactively, and is ready to travel extensively to support high‑performance power and electrification systems with:

• Strong technical foundation in power distribution, drives, controls, or automation, with power generation experience considered an advantage.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, representing the business with professionalism and confidence.
• A pro‑active problem solver with sound judgement and a commitment to issue resolution and continuous improvement.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with solid computer proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• High‑energy, self‑starting mindset with the flexibility and willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%) across the UK, Africa, and the Middle East.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
