Data Science and Analytics Job Description:
Who We Are
Weber Shandwick is more than a leading global PR agency - we're an engagement agency and we're working in and around the cutting edge of the new media landscape. We're storytellers, content creators, and we engage people IN the story. Our success is built on a deep commitment to client service and to our people. We embrace creativity and collaboration, and we engage stakeholders in new and creative ways to build brands and reputations. About the Role
Weber Shandwick is seeking a curious, detail-oriented Analyst to join our Analytics & AI team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will support research, social listening, campaign measurement, and reporting across client programs in sectors such as technology, healthcare, and government. You will help turn data into clear findings that inform communications strategy, while building fluency in analytics tools, data visualization, and emerging AI-enabled approaches to insight generation. Reporting to the Manager of Analytics and working closely with other analysts and integrated account teams, you will contribute to day-to-day data collection, analysis, reporting, and quality control. This is a hands-on role for someone who is excited to learn, comfortable working with data, and eager to understand how AI can help teams work smarter and uncover stronger insights.
This position will be based in our Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid schedule. About You
You are analytically minded, highly organized, and energized by finding meaning in data. You enjoy asking thoughtful questions, digging into trends, and translating information into simple, useful takeaways. You are comfortable learning new platforms, cleaning and organizing data, and supporting multiple client projects at once. You collaborate well with project teams, communicate clearly, and bring a strong sense of ownership to day-to-day tasks. You are also curious about AI and interested in how emerging tools can support research, analysis, and smarter storytelling. What You'll Do
• Research & Reporting: Quickly learn client industries and relevant business, policy, or cultural contexts to support accurate, thoughtful analytics deliverables.
• Data Collection & Management: Gather, clean, organize, and maintain data from social listening, digital, web, and other analytics sources; ensure work is accurate, consistent, and ready for analysis.
• Analysis & Insights: Interpret results across client projects, identify notable patterns and trends, and help translate findings into clear insights and recommendations for client and internal teams.
• Measurement Support: Assist in applying measurement frameworks across paid, earned, owned, and influencer channels; track performance against goals and support ongoing optimization.
• Visualization & Storytelling: Build charts, tables, dashboards, and presentation-ready materials that make data easy to understand and useful for decision-making.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively within integrated project teams, provide day-to-day project support, and articulate key findings and related insights clearly.
• Project Coordination: Manage individual workstreams, meet deadlines, document processes, and develop work plans with guidance as experience allows.
• AI Curiosity & Innovation: Explore practical applications of AI tools for research, data analysis, summarization, workflow improvement, and insight generation while using sound judgment and appropriate quality checks. What You'll Bring
Basic Qualifications:
• 0-2 years of relevant internship or full-time experience in marketing analytics, digital analytics, social listening, communications research, campaign measurement, or a related field.
• Experience working with data in Excel or Google Sheets, including basic cleaning, organization, QA, and analysis.
• Exposure to data visualization or reporting tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, Domo, Looker Studio, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with social listening, digital analytics, or performance analytics platforms such as Talkwalker, Brandwatch, Quid, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Meta Business Suite, or similar tools is a plus.
• Ability to synthesize information from first-party and third-party sources and communicate findings clearly in written and visual formats.
• Interest in communications, public affairs, technology, healthcare, or federal agency work; federal government experience or familiarity is a plus.
Competencies:
• Analytical Curiosity: A desire to understand the "why" behind the numbers and to ask thoughtful follow-up questions that lead to better insights.
• Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to accuracy, consistency, and clear documentation across data pulls, reports, and deliverables.
• Collaboration: A team-first approach with the ability to work independently while contributing analytics support to integrated client teams.
• Client Service Mindset: Ability to make data accessible and meaningful for colleagues and clients, with a focus on usefulness, clarity, and timeliness.
• Ownership & Accountability: Willingness to manage assigned tasks, communicate progress, raise questions early, and deliver high-quality work on deadline.
• Future-Forward Learning: Curiosity about emerging AI tools and an interest in applying them responsibly to improve research, analysis, and insight generation.Salary range: $60,000 USD - $70,000 USD Omnicom's policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager.
