Welder Fitter

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Fitter/Welder who can read prints, work independently, and take pride in producing high-quality work.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for fitting and welding metal components according to specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate has strong MIG welding experience, can interpret drawings accurately, and understands the importance of precision and quality in fabrication.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG welding on metal fabrications to meet project specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
Fit, align, and assemble components prior to welding
Prepare materials by cutting, cleaning, and shaping as needed
Set up and operate welding equipment with proper settings
Inspect welds for quality and accuracy; make corrections as needed
Work with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

Skills & Experience (Required)

Strong MIG welding experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
Experience fitting and fabricating components to spec
Knowledge of welding codes and standards
Ability to measure accurately and work with tight tolerances
Experience with plasma cutting and basic fabrication tools

Additional Experience (Preferred)

Experience with sheet metal fabrication
Familiarity with micrometers and precision measuring tools
Experience operating cranes or forklifts
