Nearly one in three Rhode Island households earns above the federal poverty level but still cannot afford essentials like housing, childcare, food, transportation, and healthcare. These are the neighbors—childcare workers, retail staff, healthcare aides—who hold our communities together but live one emergency away from crisis.

Position Summary

The Community Data and Insights Analyst maintains accurate, high-quality community resource and contact data to support contact center operations, programs, and community information services. This role is responsible for daily data hygiene, verification, reporting, and analysis; translating community data into actionable insights; and ensuring staff have timely, reliable resource information. The Analyst collaborates with internal departments and external organizations to maintain updated listings, support disaster events and program needs applying industry standards, taxonomy guidelines, and continuous quality improvement practices.

Key Responsibilities

Data Hygiene & Quality Assurance

• Maintain high standards of data hygiene for contact records and community resource listings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.
• Conduct ongoing data quality assurance to validate contact records, resource details, and taxonomy service information.
• Apply industry standards and best practices to database content, including adherence to data governance, inclusion policies, and style guides.
• Maintain and update resource listings within current systems, ensuring timely and accurate data updates.

• Assist service providers with completing intermittent, seasonal, and annual verifications to confirm the accuracy of their organizational and program listings utilizing Automated Verification Requests and Responses (AVR) in iCarol as the primary process. 

• Update resource one pagers and contact form customizations to meet disaster related needs
• Support all community resource platforms

Reporting, Analysis & Data Requests

• Export data system reports and analyses to support data request, resource data improvements and information dissemination initiatives.
• Analyze community data across departments to support Team Lead with organizational dashboards and reporting needs.
• Assist with internal and external data requests, ensuring timely delivery, accuracy, and appropriate contextual explanation using dashboards and iCarol Statistics.
• Report regularly on the status of tasks, projects, and data initiatives to the Team Lead and Director.

Program & Contact Center Support

• Provide resource support to the contact centers, ensuring staff have accurate, up‑to‑date information to serve clients effectively.
• Support programs by translating community data into practical insights and usable resource information to identify unmet needs.
• Navigate and utilize I&R systems to respond to real time resource needs and organizational priorities.

Community Resource Research & Relationships

• Research and maintain strong knowledge of Rhode Island community resources, including social and health services, disaster related services, disabled and older adult services and government and nonprofit organizations.
• Build and sustain collaborative relationships with external partners and service providers to support accurate resource listings and data sharing.
• Communicate effectively with service providers via phone, email, video conferencing, and site visits to collect, verify, and clarify program information.
• Synthesize and translate information submitted by service providers into clear, plain language descriptions, using an established taxonomy service coding system, inclusion policy, and style guide.

Professional Standards & Development

• Obtain Inform USA’s Community Resource Specialist – Data Base Curator (CRS‑DC) certification within 18 months of employment.
• Stay current on evolving industry standards, taxonomy updates, and best practices related to I&R database management.
• Continuous professional development and training on emerging data tools.
