Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day shift: 0615-1845, 3 days/week.

Job Description: The RN Med Surg position is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within the hospital's Med Surg Unit. The role involves assessing and prioritizing patient needs, administering necessary nursing interventions, monitoring patient status, and ensuring effective communication among the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care within the RN scope of practice based on physician/provider orders.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and formulate care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor and document patients' conditions and respond to changes in status.
• Educate patients and families on health management and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient care.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and patient safety standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience required.
• Previous traveler experience required.
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience required.
• Graduation from an accredited RN program.
• Current Colorado RN license in good standing or ability to obtain.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required or completion at the next available course within 3 months.
• Basic computer skills and electronic health record experience required.
