Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $18 - $18 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Cook:

• Prepare and cook hot and cold food items for patient tray lines, hospital cafeterias, and catering events

• Follow standardized recipes and modify meals to meet therapeutic diet requirements, including low-sodium, diabetic, pureed, and allergy-sensitive diets under the guidance of registered dietitians

• Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas in accordance with health and safety regulations

• Monitor, record, and maintain food and equipment temperature logs

• Store, label, and rotate food products using FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices

• Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, steamers, mixers, and slicers

Available shifts:

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day), 2nd Shift (Evening) and Weekends

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• 1 to 2 years of quantity food production experience required; healthcare or institutional food service experience strongly preferred

• Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion specifications accurately

• Basic math skills for scaling recipes and portion control

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices

• ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification preferred

• Background check and drug screening required
