Registered Nurse (RN) First Assist – O'Fallon, Missouri. Specialty: First Assist • Discipline: RN • Duration: Ongoing • Employment Type: Staff Overview This full‑time position supports a surgical services department with three operating rooms. The role performs as a first assistant during intra‑operative care, managing medication, patient monitoring, and coordinating peri‑operative nursing care. Responsibilities Deliver intra‑operative patient care as the first assistant to surgeons. Conduct pre‑operative focused nursing assessment and develop nursing diagnoses. Analyze assessment data to determine desired patient outcomes during the peri‑operative continuum. Contribute to team efficiency and support safety, effectiveness, and cost‑effective care planning. Monitor patient response and adjust the plan of care; administer medications per nursing practice. Develop, manage, and coordinate an individual plan of care related to RNFA interventions. Evaluate patient progress and systematically assess quality of nursing practice. Participate in professional development, lifelong learning, and ethical decision‑making. Advocate for patient safety and provide leadership within the professional setting. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree with 2–5 years of RN experience. Licensure: Current RN license. Experience: No supervisor experience required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Certified First Assistant (CFA or CNOR).
