In addition to our lending programs, Prime Finance is an active investor in investment grade and below-investment grade CMBS both at original issuance and on the secondary market. Job Summary The CMBS Asset Management Analyst supports the active management of a portfolio of Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities ("CMBS") subordinate bond investments. The role focuses on loan‑ and property‑level credit analysis, identifying emerging credit risks, and value preservation across performing and non-performing assets. The Analyst works closely with senior investment professionals to support controlling‑class decisions, loan workouts, approvals, and broader portfolio strategy. Essential Functions Monitor and analyze the performance of CMBS loans across a diversified portfolio, including review of borrower financial statements, operating statements, rent rolls, inspections, and special servicer asset summary reports Evaluate loan performance relative to underwriting assumptions, identify emerging credit concerns, and monitor loan covenants Support senior professionals in the analysis of loan modifications, extensions, waivers, reserve requests, assumptions, and other borrower requests Assist with the evaluation of specially serviced and distressed assets, including review of business plans, valuations, and workout strategies Prepare clear, concise internal credit memoranda, portfolio reporting, and ad hoc analyses Coordinate with internal teams and external counterparties, including master and special servicers, borrowers, brokers, legal counsel, and third‑party consultants Support ongoing process improvement initiatives within asset management Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related field 1+ years of relevant experience in CMBS, commercial real estate asset management, credit analysis, or a related role Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or similar) to improve workflow efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance analytical output Strong interest in commercial real estate fundamentals, cash flow analysis, and portfolio management. Actual base salary will be determined by several components, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills and qualifications, base salary of internal peers, and geographic location.
