Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals Follow planned menus while accommodating patient preferences and special dietary needs Deliver patient meals at scheduled times Maintain safe food temperatures and follow food safety and sanitation standards Keep the kitchen, nourishment areas and equipment clean and organized Complete required food service and safety logs Receive and inspect food and supply deliveries Help maintain appropriate food and supply inventory Assist with catering and organizational events as needed Transport meals to other AMOREM locations when assigned Work collaboratively with the Dietary Coordinator and patient care unit staff Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Enjoys preparing food and serving others Dependable, organized and attentive to detail Able to work independently and as part of a team Committed to cleanliness, food safety and quality Able to follow menus, recipes and dietary instructions Comfortable learning basic computer and recordkeeping tasks Respectful and compassionate when interacting with patients, families and coworkers Understanding of therapeutic diets is helpful but not required Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Previous cooking or food service experience is preferred. Experience may be from a restaurant, school, healthcare facility, senior living community, catering operation or similar setting. Licensure/Certification: ServSafe certification is required within six months of hire. Physical Demands Frequent walking and standing Ability to bend, reach and perform routine kitchen tasks Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds Manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary for food preparation, equipment use and record keeping Bring your skills to a place where every meal matters.
