Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department, Behavioral Health Unit (Zone 4)

Join our dynamic Emergency Department team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients experiencing behavioral health crises and medical emergencies. As a Registered Nurse in Zone 4, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a specialized behavioral health holding area designed to support patient safety, dignity, and recovery.

Zone 4 is an 8-bed, non-designated holding area located within the Emergency Department. The unit features private rooms dedicated to behavioral health patients and is designed to provide a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. Nurses benefit from a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, allowing for focused, patient-centered care and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients with behavioral health and medical needs. Provide compassionate care to patients experiencing behavioral health crises while ensuring a safe environment. Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status. Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health specialists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members. Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment in a fast-paced emergency care setting. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational standards. Advocate for patient safety, dignity, and quality outcomes.

Our Emergency Department provides expert care for patients presenting with a wide range of conditions, including behavioral health crises, life-threatening emergencies, acute medical illnesses, minor injuries, stroke and neurological emergencies, cardiac events, and other critical conditions.
