We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.About the role:The Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for supporting the coordination of budgeting, monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting the department or company’s overall financial performance. The Associate Director will play a critical role in helping to consolidate financial results and provide valuable insights to senior leadership about the department or company’s financial trajectory. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in corporate FP&A, a proven ability to lead high-performing teams, excellent communication skills, and executive presence.You will report into the Senior Director, FP&AWork Location: This position is based in our New York, NY office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-HybridPay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $163,944 - 215,177 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.Responsibilities:Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the consolidated budget & re-forecasting process for the department and / or company to ensure alignment with operating plan, external guidance, and overall financial targets; provide valuable insights of performance on ongoing basis to leadershipManagement Reporting: Help drive the production and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, highlighting key trends and variances for leadership and investor relationsAllocation Frameworks: Assist with the development of the cost allocation management and frameworks that align with the operating modelSystems & Processes: Provide insight into internal finance processes, including oversight of financial planning system(s) and allocations, integrity of raw financial data and granular reporting capabilitiesLeadership: Manage and coach high performing corporate FP&A professionalsCommunication: Communicate financial results, trends, and recommendations to leadership and other stakeholders in a clear and concise mannerRequirements:7+ years experience in FP&A roles3+ years of:Demonstrated strong analytical & problem solving experience Expert financial modeling experience and ability to effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies, and financial plansBonus pointsExperience in health insurance, managed care or insurance industries MBA in Finance, MS in Financial Analysis Proficiency in SQL/BigQuery to analyze large data setsProficiency working with Workday and AdaptiveThis is an authentic Oscar Health job opportunity.At Oscar, being an Equal Opportunity Employer means more than upholding discrimination-free hiring practices.
