Job Title: Payroll Analyst

Assignment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $28 – $36 per hour, based on experience

Work Schedule: Full - time, Monday – Friday; fully onsite in Dallas, TX. Travel may be up to 50% initially and is expected to decrease as processes become established.

Job Description:

The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for managing payroll activities from beginning to end for assigned properties. This position will work closely with Finance and property leadership to ensure payroll information is complete, accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate has experience with multi-state payroll and is comfortable working with high-volume payroll data, conducting detailed reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and supporting payroll-related audits and reporting. Experience with Dayforce is highly preferred.

The role will initially include travel to assigned locations to learn operational procedures, establish relationships, and help transition payroll processes. Once processes are stabilized, travel is expected to become more occasional.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee payroll processing for assigned properties, including gathering information, reviewing time records, processing payroll, and completing final reconciliations.
• Validate time and attendance data and investigate inconsistencies before payroll deadlines.
• Process various forms of compensation, including hourly wages, salaries, tips, garnishments, supplemental payments, final checks, and off-cycle payroll.
• Utilize Dayforce to review payroll results, compare timekeeping data, and identify potential errors.
• Perform pre- and post-payroll audits to verify accuracy and identify areas requiring correction.
• Reconcile payroll earnings, deductions, taxes, and other payroll activity against supporting records and the general ledger.
• Research payroll discrepancies, determine root causes, and coordinate timely corrections.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to garnishments and other payroll adjustments.
• Partner with property Finance teams and managers to obtain required payroll information and resolve outstanding issues.
• Help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and wage-and-hour requirements.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 review and validation.
• Support internal and external payroll audits by providing requested documentation and information.
• Provide payroll support, guidance, and training to property-level teams.
• Help develop and implement standardized payroll procedures across multiple locations.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll workflows, controls, and overall efficiency.
• Perform additional payroll and system-related responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of professional payroll experience required.
• Multi-state payroll experience required.
• Strong understanding of payroll processing, auditing, reconciliations, and payroll controls.
• Experience researching and resolving payroll discrepancies.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teams at multiple locations.
• Comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as required during the initial transition and training period.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Dayforce payroll system experience.
• Bachelor's degree.
• FPC or CPP certification.
• Experience supporting both union and non-union payroll environments.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookup functions, pivot tables, formulas, large data sets, and reconciliations.
