This role sits between the organization's source data infrastructure and its decision-makers. It is designed for a hands-on, senior-level practitioner who owns the reporting and analytics layer of the business: recurring executive and operational reporting, the Power BI environment and its semantic models, metric definitions, data quality at the reporting layer, and executive-level analysis.

The role carries immediate production responsibilities from day one — branch financials, the Monthly Operating Report (MOR), dashboard refreshes, and month-end reporting reliability — alongside a central mandate to use AI-assisted automation to make that production faster, more reliable, and less manual over time.

What You'll Do

As a Transitions Senior BI Engineer, you will support clinical, financial, and operational decision-making in a growing healthcare services organization, and is well-suited to an experienced practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, prefers building over administering, and can move from executive question to trustworthy answer without waiting for fully specified requirements.

• Own recurring reporting production — branch financials, the Monthly Operating Report, and other executive/operational reports, delivered on time and backed by documented, repeatable processes.
• Lead the Power BI environment end-to-end — semantic models, DAX measures, workspaces, security, and distribution — serving as the certified source of truth for business metrics across clinical quality, census, revenue cycle, staffing, and financial performance.
• Set the standard for how metrics are defined and calculated , maintaining clear documentation and change control so leadership never encounters a silently redefined number.
• Own data integrity at the reporting layer — reconciling across systems, investigating discrepancies, and driving root-cause fixes with our data partner (Binary Way) rather than patching issues downstream.
• Partner directly with executive leadership , including the CFO, delivering fast, high-impact analysis on variance drivers, census/admissions trends, revenue cycle, staffing, and growth.
• Champion AI-assisted automation across recurring reporting, variance commentary, data quality checks, and ad hoc analysis — with a mandate to modernize workflows and measurably cut production time and errors.
• Establish validation standards for AI-assisted output , ensuring automation improves reliability rather than introducing risk.
• Serve as the primary business-side liaison to our data/pipeline partner , defining requirements, validating delivered data, and holding them accountable for quality and timeliness.
• Coordinate with IT on enterprise systems, access, and security matters that intersect with reporting, without owning those domains directly.

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Health Informatics,
• Statistics, Accounting/Finance, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered.
• 4–7 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or reporting roles with increasing ownership of production reporting.
• Healthcare experience required — provider-side settings preferred, including multi-site healthcare services, physician or dental groups, behavioral health, post-acute, or payer-adjacent environments.
• Advanced Power BI proficiency, including semantic model and DAX development — not report building alone. Demonstrated ownership of a Power BI environment used for executive reporting.
• Expert-level SQL and advanced Excel skills. Snowflake experience a plus.
• Direct experience owning recurring, deadline-driven reporting — month-end close reporting, financial packages, or operating reports — where accuracy and on-time delivery were non-negotiable.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to automate or accelerate analytics and reporting work, and sound judgment about when and how to trust AI-assisted output.
