KVC Missouri Community-Based Services – Women’s Crisis Center Advocate
Location: Doniphan
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: PRN and Part-Time positions available
The Advocate provides crisis intervention, advocacy, and supportive services to clients while helping individuals and families work toward self-sufficiency. This position collaborates closely with case managers, therapists, and shelter leadership to ensure clients receive quality care and access to appropriate community resources. The Advocate reports to the Program Director or Manager.
Requirments
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid auto insurance
- Must be at least 21 years old
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Qualifications- Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all transactions and communications
- Experience with problem resolution and conflict management
- Team-building experience
- Experience working with children and families in a trauma-informed environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience working with community members and social service resources
- Provide crisis assessment, intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, and supportive services
- Oversee crisis shelter operations to help maintain a safe, supportive, and clean environment
- Assist with staff and client responsibilities including:
- Chore coordination
- Conflict resolution
- Meal preparation
- Adherence to shelter policies and procedures
- Ensure safety concerns are addressed promptly
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and safety standards
- Maintain confidentiality standards at all times
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper case files
- Identify and communicate trends through shift notes and case staffing
- Organize and facilitate educational and recreational activities for clients
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of KVC Missouri
