Phlebotomist

**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** + Properly identifies out patients by verbal confirmation and positive identification system. + Properly identifies and labels patients specimens for Blood Bank testing using the positive patient identification system. + Properly identifies patients and adequately performs venipunctures and/or skin punctures. + Uses appropriate aseptic technique to draw blood cultures + Clearly and accurately labels all specimens immediately after venipuncture and completes necessary documentation + Evaluates specimen adequacy Receives specimens in the computer and delivers them to the appropriate department + Monitors inventory levels and follows appropriate protocol for re-ordering supplies + Deletes or cancels orders as necessary with full documentation of reason and colleague they spoke with. + Collates requests, answers the telephone, delivers specimens to appropriate department and operates the pneumatic tube Always demonstrates proper telephone etiquette + Consistently assumes responsibility for calls, correctly answers questions, directs inquiries and takes messages + Adapts work schedule to meet emergency staffing needs Is responsive, courteous, respectful and cooperative in completing tasks + Collects TIMED and STAT tests within designated time period + Maintains supplies, carts, workstations in a neat, clean and orderly manner + Performs other related duties as required **Qualifications** : + High School Diploma/Equivalent required + Phlebotomy Certification or equivalent training **Position Highlights:** + Work/Life balance with flexible schedules.  + Free onsite parking.  + Our mission and core values are what drive each member of Trinity Health to support each other, communicate openly and respectfully while embracing a culture that nurtures a healing, safe environment for all.   + Referral Rewards Program. **Nazareth Hospital** serves Northeast Philadelphia and the surrounding region.
