Laboratory Technician, Petroleum - Garden City, Georgia Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world’s top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Petroleum Laboratory Technician to join our Caleb Brett team at our Garden City, GA facility. Overview Intertek Caleb Brett provides specialized cargo inspection and analytical assessment services to the oil and gas, chemical, and other commodities markets. With a global network of laboratories, 24/7 availability, and more than 130 years of exceptional customer service, we deliver independent inspection and testing with industry-leading customer service. Responsibilities Receives, examines, and records inbound samples for testing through a login process. Delivers test samples to the staging area. Monitors the availability of supplies needed for testing processes and communicates needs to the Laboratory Manager. Performs testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodology after demonstrating proficiency. Reviews results against specifications and known expectations, and may issue analysis to clients. Prepares samples and quality control specimens; prepares and standardizes reagents and solutions; calibrates equipment needed for the testing processes. Verifies and communicates results obtained, entering them into instrument logs, control charts, calibration records, laboratory worksheets, and any other media to ensure validity and traceability of the information. Maintains documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition. Assists in the training of less experienced employees when sufficient proficiency is documented. Carries out all responsibilities in a supportive manner with adherence to the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications Must be able to work at both our Intertek location in Garden City and at our client’s site on Elba Island. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines. Must be detail‑oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload with efficient time management. Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats. Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties. Must be customer focused and quality driven. Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record required. Preferred Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience preferred. Two years’ experience in a laboratory environment preferred. Ability to handle chemical and petroleum products. Proficiency in online applications. Ability to work some overtime and occasional off‑shifts as needed.
