Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Animal Care Technician II to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Bethesda, MD.

As an Animal Care Technician II , you will perform daily animal health observations to maintain the quality and health of research animals in complex/high traffic rooms, cubicles, vertical vivarium rooms, and/or a satellite facility.


Additional responsibilities include:

• Perform daily water bottle and cage checks, cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required; provide food and water; and record health concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, housing, or support areas.
• Receive, inspect, and house incoming animals.
• Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species.
• May become involved in breeding and weaning procedures.
• Monitor personnel and equipment entry into various rooms.
• Operate required equipment and perform general housekeeping.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Technician II position:

• high school diploma or general education degree
• minimum one year's experience performing basic animal care
• ALAT eligibility required, ALAT certification preferred

The pay range for this position is $23.50 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
